Most Brother customers ask for a PES file. This is simply because they are told this is the best format for Brother Embroidery machines. However they, then, have difficulty getting the machine to do the automatic trimming of threads.
The Wilcom software is one of the best digitising softwares in the world. So how come one digitised on there doesn’t seem to work? Is it a trim issue?
So, we spoke to some people on the Brother booth and a few of our customers. To get to the root of this issue! After speaking to people on the Brother booth, and a few of our customers, we now know that there is a minor issue with PES files. Your Brother machine can only read the PES file’s trim instructions if the design was ORIGINALLY DIGITISED USING THE BROTHER DIGITISING SOFTWARE.
So, if we use the professional Wilcom software to digitise a design, chances are, your Brother machine might not recognize the trim instruction.
And at the same time, if you open the PDF supplied with the design, you will find that the trims are in place!
So what can we do to remedy this?
All you have to do is order the design in a DST format
Dst is the world’s most commonly accepted stitch format!
99.99% of the machines in the world INCLUDING BROTHER, will accept a DST embroidery file.
And voila! The trims stay as they should.
This will save you a lot of time and energy! In the ever-growing world of embroidery digitising, we are trying to make things as simple and effective as possible.
